Spy-Rid is a corrupt antispyware parasite that often infects the PC through web browser security loopholes or trojans, but can also be contracted if the user makes the mistake of downloading the free scan offered by the site. This rogue security program is simply a ploy to get users to spend money on a product that is not capable of performing any actions it claims, and can in fact cause damage to your computer.

Alarming security alert warnings often display, warning the user that infections and other dangers exist. They are then invited to scan their computer for these threats, in order to detect and remove them. If they fall for this, they will be shown the fake results of the scan, then informed that in order to remove these infected files they must purchase the full product. While this sounds good, this application is nothing but your typical rogue security program that makes false claims in order to get the user to purchase the product. As many others do, this one advertises security alerts aggressively in an effort to frighten the user.

These malicious applications usually install through trojans without the permission or knowledge of the user. This program usually installs with the help of vicious trojans such as Zlob and Vundo, and is created by hackers who want to trick you, so that you will spend money on their useless product. This is malware, which puts your PC and personal information in jeopardy.

There are hundreds if not thousands of malicious applications out in cyberspace that are similar to this one. Hackers design these programs, and advertise aggressively toward users warning them of severe security threats that exist on their computer.
