Introducing Solid Foods to Babies
How do we know that our baby is now ready for his first solid food? Some believe that babies aging between 4-6 months old should now be introduced to solid foods. But most pediatricians today are advising parents to start feeding their babies from 6 months onwards. Pediatricians added that newly-born babies up to their sixth month of age should be solely breastfeed, if not, formula-feed only to be able to better absorb all the nutrients present in milk.
Their tummies are not yet fully capable of digesting solid foods, thus the cause of diarrhea and constipation. If they are not yet satisfied after breastfed, try breastfeeding them more until they are full. (more...)
